Chores

So, I have been trying to get Aubree in the habit of doing "chores". So far she really enjoys it...probably because she gets so much praise for a job well done. Today, she even offered to clean her brothers room (move exersaucer to the wall and pick blankets up off the floor).

So far, all I have given her is folding towels, cleaning her room, and feeding the dog. I am trying to come up with some sort of "responsibility chart" with pictures of her chores so she might get used to doing them without being asked and if she does them for a week she would receive a surprise (ice cream?). Does anyone have any suggestions on how I might pull this off? I am hoping for something a little cuter than poster board with pictures glued on.

Now that I think about it...something like this might be nice for me :) Everyone needs a little organization in their life!

Excersaucer...

So, I decided to pull out the ole' excersaucer that we had saved from when Aubree was a baby.
Here are a few pictures of Griffin's first time in it :)

he hated it at first...and don't hate on my photography skills. There is a reason I pay Mrs.Apryl to take pics of my kids.

It grew on him eventually...his favorite part was the mirror.
I just thought this was too cute...his little feet dangling out of the bottom!

Griffin is 2 months old!!!

...well, he was on the 16th. I have already admitted that I am a loser when it comes to my blog latlely so cut me some slack, haha.
Anyway, Griffin is 2 months old. He had his checkup on the 19th and weighed in at a whopping 9 lbs, lol. He is growing well though, and his size is great for a preemie. He eats every 3-4 hours STILL...hopefully he can start eating more so he will sleep longer at night. He is still having some "goop" in one of his eyes but the doctor gave us some ointment so hopefully it will help. He had to get 4 vaccines but was pretty brave through the whole thing but did show us how he had mastered the "pouty face".
He is a very happy baby and is staying awake most of the day now. He loves to lay in the floor in his room and look around.
Here are a few pictures from the last few weeks.

im a slacker..part 2

let me apologize. i guess with a 3 year old, a 6 week old, part time job, and home remodel i didnt have much blogging time left. so much has happened here lately so ill try to squeeze it all in here.
-we got our floors installed. praise the lord. this has been a long process because of course as soon as we got them installed and the mess cleaned up..our icemaker started leaking and water ran UNDER the floors in the kitchen so they had to be pulled up, dried, and reinstalled...TWICE!

-of course day one of flooring installation...our washer went out. so we bought a new set...our first appliance purchase ever...everything else was hand-me-downs or came with the house. i went out with intentions of buying a nice shiny front load system but found a top load system with the same features and capabilities but none of the hassel or worry of that front seal leaking.

-griffin is now 6 weeks old. i cant believe it!! he is doing great and man can that boy eat!! we went to the pulmonologist yesterday so he could have his final rsv shot. thank goodness he came toward the end of the rsv season or it would have been a shot every month! he weighed 7lb 90z. he loves to snuggle and take a bath with his sissy. we have only had one scary moment with him and that was yesterday when his tongue frenulum tore. i knew it was long and was going to ask the pediatrician about it at his 2 month visit but it ripped while he was eating a blood started pouring out of his mouth. my first instinct was oh no, he bit his tongue but then i was like wait...he doesnt have teeth. it scared me to death. here are a few snapshots from home.

i guess thats all the news for now. i hear someone racing up and down my street so i have to go be an old lady and yell at them to slow down....the joys of "growing up"
